Hi, JENIA HAIR community and everyone who might come across this blog post explaining our Signature Shampoo's clean ingredients, how they work, and why it's important for your hair. It's Jenia and here we go.
One of the benefits of using a sulfate-free alternative is that your hair is cleansed without removing your natural oils that keep your hair shiny and scalp happy & moisturized. And that's why your hair also remains fresh longer!
Explaining Ingredients.
In JENIA HAIR we want to be transparent about which ingredients and why we choose to use in our clean, innovative formulas. So here is the full list of ingredients and the explanation of each and every one of them!
Disodium laureth sulfosuccinate is an organic-based gentle foaming agent:
it's considered very gentle on the skin and hair
it’s suitable for more sensitive scalp types
it's free of sulfates (which are potentially harmful to the skin and hair).
Sodium Lauryl sulfoacetate is derived from coconut and palm oils:
a safe, skin-friendly surfactant (foaming agent) for both skin and hair
this mild plant-derived surfactant creates a rich, luxurious lather that effectively removes dirt, and bacteria without stripping or drying sensitive scalp and hair
Cocamidopropyl betaine is an organic compound that is derived from coconut oil:
it helps naturally boost the conditioning and moisturizing properties of haircare products
it assists in enhancing overall manageability
and provides hydration to hair strands
Basil leaf water helps to cure dandruff and hair fall:
it reduces excessive dryness of the scalp
removes impurities and dead cell accumulation from the scalp
helps to promote hair growth by improving blood circulation through the scalp
Millet seed extract works overtime on your hair in order to bring health, cell growth, and thickness:
is rich in omega-6 fats and Miliacin, a molecule known for its activity on cellular proliferation which plays a role in the hair cycle
has been known for centuries as a shine enhancer for hair
Black currant fruit extract nourishes the hair follicles, which can lead to thicker and fuller hair:
it's rich in antioxidants, which can help protect the hair against free radicals
the fatty acids in black currant can also help fight dry scalp
impart moisture and smooth strands
Radish root extract is a source of antioxidants and is considered the natural replacement of cosmetics preservatives. Gives our signature pinkish color to the shampoo!
has moisturizing, conditioning, and purifying activities
has antibacterial and antifungal properties
suitable for hair with dandruff
Hydrolyzed wheat protein fortifies hair cells and strengthens chemically treated hair with proteins:
since hair is made up mostly of proteins, the proteins in hydrolyzed wheat can repair damaged hair follicles, lift the hair up, and reduce porousness in the lengths of hair shafts
replenish the void of keratin with its cystine content
prevents further weakening of your hair strands, reviving damaged or chemically treated hair
Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it can actually pull in moisture from the air, keeping hair hydrated and healthy.
Coco-glucoside is a mild, easily absorbent sugar surfactant
its moisture-retaining property helps to keep your scalp and hair moisturized, thereby making the hair soft and smooth
it helps to prevent frizz and makes your hair more manageable
Glycol distearate is a pearling agent derived from natural sources responsible for the signature glossy texture of the shampoo.
Maltodextrin is a plant-based ingredient that makes the hair easier to comb, supple and softer and gives it more volume.
Guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride is sourced from the seeds of the guar plant and is a conditioning and anti-static agent.
Sodium chloride (which you may know better as table salt) helps create a luscious texture and ensures the product is easy to apply and spreads evenly through your hair.
Citric acid brings the pH levels down, which improves the hair's appearance and manageability whilst also reducing frizz. It also removes the buildup or debris from your hair and makes it shiny.
Benzyl alcohol works as a preservative and product stabilizer ingredient and is considered safe in hair products.
Tetrasodium glutamate diacetate is an organic salt that works as a stabilizer to prevent natural discoloration.
Potassium sorbate is a natural white salt and it is an antimicrobial natural preservative. It is so natural that it is also used in food and it is a great alternative to synthetic parabens.
Phenoxyethanol is an alternative preservative considered to be safer than parabens.
Parfum (fragrance)
The wrong shampoo could make your hair dry, weak, and lusterless – in short, not as beautiful as it should be.
Hope this information was useful and now you can have a better idea of how our Signature sulfate-free shampoo is made and why it's better for your hair.
Switching to our sulfate-free formula will be kinder on dry, stressed, curly tresses - on hair needing some love generally speaking, - and without compromising on cleanliness, hair hydration, and irresistible scents. Not to mention our formula boasting botanicals and plant extracts will help your hair achieve a healthier and smoother finish!
